Production Elite has been created by Chris Logan, a Production Manager with experience across a diverse range of programme genres at the BBC and Independent production companies.

During this time as both an employer and a freelancer looking for work, it became clear that there was a fundemental problem with the recruitment process in the sometimes overlooked area of Production Management.

As a manager it was increasingly difficult to find the best people to fill roles in a production team once your contacts list had been exhausted. Trawling CV sites and interviewing prospective employees was time consuming and often costly. Without committing a lot of valuable time in an intensely busy industry, this was an extremely unreliable way of finding good people.

The second problem became clear as a freelancer leaving a staff position with limited contacts in the independent world. With excellent experience and skills, simply submitting a CV to a huge database and applying to the rare job vacancy created unnecessary job insecurity.

So it was here that the idea was born to take this problem away from managers and freelancers in this area. By creating a pool of only the best talent through contacts, recommendation and interview, employers would have the recruitment process done for them and a reliable source from which to staff their production for a small booking fee.

At the same time, freelancers would have an agent actively looking for work on their behalf as their contract ends, thus easing job insecurity. Our personal service also allows us to build individual relationships and seek out challenging and rewarding roles that progress their careers so that they do not have to take any old job just to pay the bills.

Production Elite should be used as an extra tool to find rewarding work and the best people in the roles of Production Runner, Secretary, Assistant, Coordinator and Manager. There are no subscription fees and we work on a fee by results service, which is negotiated as part of the freelancer salary once they are booked.
